Canada: The Story of Us

Canada: The Story of Us tells the story of our nation and its people over 10 hours in a new way for a new generation. Incorporating drama-documentary first person “capsule” stories, ground-breaking CGI and a cast of celebrity influencer interviews, Canada: The Story of Us is full of stories about how our country was built. It tracks the ingenuity of our people and how they came to create the world we inhabit today. Each hour features exciting action-adventure narratives told through dramatic recreation and 3D animation. There’s danger, struggle and jeopardy.

Canada: The Story of Us will feature key interviews with important thinkers — homegrown Canadian stars and iconic national figures who take us inside these stories and describe what makes up the fabric of a nation.

The series objective is to celebrate the achievements of our nation and deeper our understanding of how Canada became the country it is today. It is a celebration of how we transformed our differences into understanding creating an identity that is uniquely diverse.

Canada: The Story of Us will also feature a Virtual Reality (VR) experience that will enable audiences to travel back in time through fully immersive 360º VR experiences and to witness, first hand, the stories of our history in a way never before possible.

CBC will launch a trio of documentary-style virtual reality experiences immersing the viewer in three quintessentially Canadian historical moments like never before.

Drawing from the extensive research done for the show and utilizing 3D/VR technology, Canada: The Story of Us VR will bring these moments across time and space and back into the collective Canadian consciousness, putting the audience directly inside the action.

Sundays at 9:00 PM, March 26 to May 14.
